At the forum, NOC President Viktor Lukashenko and Deputy Chairman of the Board of Belagroprombank Sergei Chugai presented cash certificates and gifts to the winners of 35 Heroes of the Future, a new project supporting promising athletes on the occasion of the NOC’s 35th anniversary.

“Our main task, I believe, is taking care of our younger generation. Today we are announcing a new project, 35 Heroes of the Future, through which we will support our young athletes. I am confident that the funds we have allocated will be put to good use, and soon we will see the bright results of these young people at the most prestigious international arenas and competitions,” the NOC president said.

The goal of the project is to support talented young athletes aged 15 to 21 who make up the reserve of Belarus’ national and representative teams – our future.

More than 120 applications were reviewed from federations and national centers for Olympic training for various sports. With the help of a special NOC commission, 35 of the best representatives from 20 sports were selected.

All funds will be transferred to the federations throughout the year and will be used to purchase sports equipment, organize training camps for the specific scholarship recipient, cover participation fees for competitions, and address other athlete needs.
