One of the world season’s frontrunners in high jump Pavel Seliverstau and hurdles runner Alina Talay have been included in the national team of Belarus at the European Athletics Indoor Championships to be held from 3 to 5 of March in Belgrade.

Head coach Igor Sivodedov’s team comprises of 19 athletes. Maryna Arzamasava will miss the tournament in the capital of Serbia due to the health problems.

The performance of Pavel Seliverstov is bound to be a show as he is third in world’s ranking after he has overcome the bar of 2.32m height in the tournament in Czech Republic. The national team put hopes on Alina Tala in 60m hurdling as well – she has become a gold medalist in 60m hurdles with a result of 7,85sec. Overall, three medals went to Belarusians in Prage: a gold and two silver ones.

Two more perspective Belarusian Sviatlana Kudzelich (3000m) and Yuliya Leantsiuk (shot put) will take part in the EuroChamp.  

At the European Athletics Indoor Championships in Belgrade, in both men and women will be awarded of 13 sets of medals.
