International Greco-Roman Wrestling Tournament to memory of Oleg Karavaev to be held in Minsk

The XXIV International Greco-Roman Wrestling Tournament to the memory of Belarusian Olympic champion Oleg Karavaev will be staged on 17 November in Minsk.

Preliminary fights are scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. in the Minsk Palace of Sports. The Opening Ceremony starts at 5 p.m. just ahead of the finals.

Apart from the Belarusian team, wrestlers from Georgia, Kazakhstan, Poland, Russia, Uzbekistan and Ukraine are going to destroy one another on pads.

The tournament will be held in the line fight format extremely popular among spectators and specialists.

Earlier on 16 November the tournament details were voiced during a press-conference at the headquarters of the National Olympic Committee of the Republic of Belarus.
